Right now, I am reading a book I borrowed from the library called "Stand Tall" by Joan Bauer.
The first reason I chose this book is because I knew Joan Bauer. She is the author of "Peeled" which I finished reading about a month ago. When I first started reading "Stand Tall," I was interested in it. It was like the book was pulling me in. This book is about a six foot 2 boy in 7th grade. (His nickname is Tree because of his height.) He is in a situation where his parents are divorced. He and his 2 older brothers keep suffering from the separation between each other. Ever since the parents separated, Tree has been failing. He is not doing good in sports. He is insecure most of the time. I feel bad for him. I can relate to him easily when I read this book. That is one of the reasons why I am excited to keep reading.
This sounds interesting and the character appears to be facing many challenges. I wonder if you like Bauer's writing style or the characters that she creates...

ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of the time in 2nd grade when people gave positive and negative commments on my height. But I still like my height anyways.
