small books became big book

when I first read baby book about ant because I have to use information to my science fair project and when i first see a book call killer ant I was thinking this will last very sort because the page is just so sort and have lest information but I once read this book I was surprise that when I read this I understand why ant is impotant to the environment and why they are viscous and I understant all of that by using all my reading skill why does this happen what make them so help full and what happen. I KNOW THAT THIS BOOK IS NOT MY AVERAGE READING SKILL!but when there are small information you will get what are you reading than the big book. Small book can improve your reading skill but I am not asking that reading big book will not gave your level up but it is better to read to your self or to your family member so that you can improve more in your reading skill. I have learn this from my 6th grade teacher and my 7th grade teacher I did not said there name because I hate them I am just playing because I can't spell there name. I hope you have fun reading to your brother or sister and enjoy your reading PEACE YO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

picking a book out

Today I was thinking why don't a book have interest or what make it interesting
and what is the most important skill to have? so I was thinking in the past that most people in my class chose predicting more then wow moment. And this shock me because I was wondering why would my classmate use more predicting then wow moment as a skill to there reading. I think that people read more predicting skill in reading because it is easy for them to use predicting as a skill then using wow moment in reading. The thing that I don't understand about the book is that what make it so boring to read and I know that it have long word or the never get to the point part but more then than that. I think people think the book is boring because when the peoples read the book the character in the book don't suit there personality like for example: Elmo kill the whole people by farting and peoples might think this is offensive to them by reading this book. And I have read a lot of book that have a lot of cures word in there that I don't like to read like Being A Slave book there is powerful word but not the feeling that I don't feel inside the character.

the battle of the labyring

When I first read this book the character so how he can be positive of his work and how Percy never quit in his quest even if he is in a tough situation. If I was him I will be dead in one second because there is monster that is stronger then me or bigger than me but I would try to fight them because I won't let peoples let me down. I love to read Percy Jackson because it has a lot of action and I love to read action book because it is easy for me to imaging the image in my head. Another thing that I like to read Percy Jackson book is that there are mystery waiting to the next page and that remind me of a time when I felt something very horrible that is await me in the next day. I recommend you to read Percy Jackson book because the book teach me a lot of stuff that I don't know for Example: Percy Jackson have left his mother to protect his friend and his peoples but I wonder Percy make a lot of risk to protect some one he love. And if I was Percy I would save my friend too even if they hate me I will away be there. So I hope you get Percy Jackson book and away blog about what you love about your book and have fun READING!

Anything new?

So, is there anything new yet? New books? New friends? New anything? If not, that's not good! It's a new school year and everyone should have something to say about. At least one. For me, one new thing is that I get to make some friends from my class. Because the teachers switch up the students a bit, so I made friends with those people. I hope everyone is enjoying their year so far!

Goodbye Summer

School is starting tomorrow! Are you guys excited to see everyone again? Or sad that summer is going away so fast?

An Easy Book

Another book I read this summer is Dear Mr. Henshaw by Beverly Cleary. At first, I thought this was a very easy book because of the amount of words on the page and the drawings. But as I got deeper into the book, I found out it is a pretty hard book to understand what Leigh(the main character) is thinking just by the words in his diary. Therefore, I recommend everyone to read this book and have a taste of Leigh's normal life but fascinating. Sometimes you can't get to know something just by looking at the outside, you have to travel inside and discover what's within there when you try to judge them. Take your time.

The sprit animals from stars.

If you're a fan of someone, then go to Wonder wall, so check this one, on the photos called Star Spirt Animals so when I look at it, that was funny.

If I build an android for Benson

I'll tell about this, so if build an android for Benson, I think he could be surprized and shocked at the same time, but if a female android who is very smart like him, and kind to him, just like his friend.

Code Word: HOLLA!

Who thinks moving is hard? I know it's not easy, not that I mean carrying the big furniture all day. Am I talking crazy? What I mean is I feel sad and a little un patient. My summer was okay, I spent time with my REAL father. I drove through five states to get to Alanta, Georgia but, I stopped in Virginia to go to Virginia beach. I went to Dorney Park with my aunt and cousin, Sarah and Vincent. I made a promise that next year I would ride the HYDRA!
-Come back to school and yell "HOLLA!" if you see me. ^3^ -kisses-

Let's say hello and goodbye. •.-

Oh my god.....

Today I got up and I was going to read a book for my Summer Reading log, but I decided to do it at night, so I waited until now (8:00) to read the book: "The Lighting Thief". And I went to my desk to get my Reading log, but it wasn't there, so I looked all over my room.........eight minutes later, I didn't find it. I guess I have to keep looking for it......

Roald Dahl's Inspiration

This summer I read a book called "Matilda" by Roald Dahl. It is about a girl named Matilda having a knowledge of an adult in an age of a toddler with phenomenal reading skills. But her talent is hidden with her awful parents that are completely bias towards her older brother, and a headmistress, Ms. Trunchbull, who treats students like punching bags. Before I read this book, I read an autobiography "Boy" by Roald Dahl about his childhood how he suffered from the people in his school at the 1920's and 30's time period as the character Ms. Trunchbull. Also, in Roald Dahl's autobiography, I found that he got the inspiration for "Charlie And The Chocolate Factory" from his love for chocolate in his childhood. It is great for writers to use memories from your past to create stories!

There is one that BLoody Mary could be in the mirrors.

Amazon delivery is horrible

You guys shouldn't send so you could buy it on Amazon.com because there could be problems like if you want to buy a book, then you have to make a password, the email addrees, and you know when you buy something. So you think the package is coming, it ain't, so I have to order it again, so be careful.

$$ for reading

I was at my bank and saw a sign "$10 for 10 books". Apparently TD Bank is offering $10 if you read 10 books this summer (which goes from May to September) and complete the form online. Go to http://www.tdbank.com/summerreading/ and check it out. You have to have or open a bank account, so talk to your parents.

I definitely think that reading has its own rewards and no one should have to be paid to read--I am currently knee-deep in the Harry Potter series for the first time, and I am loving it! However, as long as you are reading 10 books, you might as well get paid for it.

Hope your summer is going well!

Cranky, Ungrateful Mornings

(The prince finishes climbing the 1000 stairs and looks around expectantly. The dragon roars loudly and the prince takes out his sword, preparing to fight.)
Princess (Me): (Watching from a high tower in the sky) (shouts) YOU CAN DO IT PRINCE!
Prince: (Fights and yell at the same time) DON'T WORRY PRINCESS, I WON'T FAIL YOU!
(The prince made the final swing of his sword. The dragon is no longer alive. Its head was slashed off of its neck.)
Prince: (Breathing hardly) I'm coming for you my princess! (Climbs the very tall tower to reach the princess at the top.)
Princess: Oh! Prince, I knew you would make it!
Prince: Of course my dear princess. I-
"UHHHHHHHH"
I woke up to the most horrible cry I've heard of. Oh my god, I thought to myself. What happened to my wonderful dream?! I usually wake up to my sister coming into my room trying to lure my brother out to play. But this time, she managed to sleep in.
"UHHHHHHHH"
It sounded like somebody was crying and at the end of the sound, it sounded annoyed. I think it was two young boys crying at the same time.
"UHHHHHHHH"
What kind of cry is that? Do they know how to cry silently?! I kept thinking: WHY TODAY? WHY NOW?
"UHHHHHHHH"
I was annoyed because they woke me up when I was having a beautiful dream. I don't often get those kind of dreams, you know.
"UHHHHHHHH"
There it was again. I was frustrated and was about to go to my window and shout,"WILL YOU SHUT UP ALREADY?!" I'm not that kind of girl who usually shouts but it was not my fault it was 7:00 in the morning. I decided to wait for the right moment. Silence. Nothing. No more wailing. Too late. I wondered what made them shut up. Thank goodness! I was relived. BUT I was still annoyed. The minute I woke up from those awful cries, I couldn't get back to my dream! It's not like I control my sleeping and what I want to dream about. The dreams just pop up out of nowhere and let me sleep through the night. I didn't know what else to do so I stayed awake.

I hope this never happens again...

Cirque Du Freak

Hey everyone! I'm starting to read the book known as "Cirque Du Freak", i's written as French in the beginning, and it is called as "Circus of Freaks" in english, it talks about a circus show that was really cruel talking about freaks and people teasing them, and they perform at the circus, but it was banned years and years ago. And they started it again, except now it's more crueler, Darrren Shan and Steve, middle school boys, wanting to go there, but got scared. I just finished reading 12 chapters of it (Near 100 pages) today at nighttime. I'm going to read the whole Series of "Cirque Du Freak", "Eragon" series, and the "Fire" series, along with the "The Lightning Thief" series. And if I go to the library, I'd be borrowing all the books that looks interesting, but last time I borrowed so many books that I has a hard time carry, like 20 something books. I sure have a lot of readings to do this Summer! Happy Summer Reading! with Happy Summer!

I remember Cynthia Phun :D

While I was eating my yogurt for breakfast this morning, I thought of old memories I had at FACTS, especially the one when Cynthia and I had a yogurt eating contest. Somewhere in the middle of the year, it was the last Friday of the month aka dress down day and 6th grade breakfast. That morning, breakfast was yogurt and granola bars. Cynthia and I came up with an idea. We wanted to see who can eat yogurt and throw away our own trash the fastest. When we started, we quickly peeled off the lid of the yogurt cup and scooped out big chunks of strawberry yogurt. It took a few scoops for Cynthia to finish off her breakfast. I was done only a second after her. We both ran to the trash can and we called it a tie. Everybody else that was near the trash can was looking at us like we were crazy! We both wanted a rematch so we took another cup of yogurt. This time, Shu Lin got us started. Cynthia broke a piece off the aluminum foil but she kept going and ate her yogurt as fast as she can. We hardly choked when we were giggling in between swallows. When we were done eating yogurt, we took off, making our way to the trash can. Cynthia was the first to throw away her trash. I was second. I thought I lost BUT it was actually Cynthia who lost and it was just because of a tiny piece of aluminum foil that wasn't thrown away. Cynthia and I laughed so much after she discovered that the trash was hers. So, I won anyway. It was HILARIOUS!

Eragon Series

Hey everyone! I'm starting to read the Eragon series. And I'm going to read Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, and The Inheritance Cycle, I just reuested the book, and I got Eragon and Eldest, but not Brisingr. I'm not sure when is The Inheretance Cycle's going to come out though, some people say there is none. Hope it's a good book!

The perfect combination for a nightmare

Last night, I had a nightmare. It was about me being too clumsy to run away from the giant dinosaur that has been trying to chase me in the previous nightmares I had. I think the reasons for this nightmare is because:
1. It was raining hard.
2. There was thunder and lightning
3. I have been watching power rangers with my brother all night
4. The room was strangely dark
5. I was cold enough to think that I was in Alaska
I was freaked out when I woke up in the morning. I was glad I slept through the night. I hope the nightmare won't come true because today I watched a movie in where the nightmares of this person came true.

Making cookies :)

Today, my mom, sister, and I made cookies. We took out all the things we need. We set the oven to its right cooking temperature. After that, I mixed the ingredients in a bowl. My sister helped me shape the cookies and put them on a cookie sheet. We all put the 3 batches of cookies into the oven. We waited and when the smell of cinnamon cookies lingered in the cool air, my mom took them out. After the cookies cooled down, we all ate the chewy cookies. It was delicious!

Why can't you shut up ?

Okay, so have you guys ever felt like you're wrong but you don't want to apologize, but at the same time you don't want to avoid the person. You guys should read the book "Why can't you shut up?" My first impression of this book wasn't all that good until i read a few pages and i already fell in love with it. The title was engaging because apparently i hate when people tell me to shut up unless they joke around, so usually i take things serious....sometimes. The genre of this book is Self-Help which i just learned a few days before school ended. Anyways if you guys would like a quick summary keep reading and if you guys are tired of reading this then i guess i recommend this book to you and i encourage you to read it. Summary : So, this books start off by explaining a true story about a beautiful couple that had an argument over something little, and all of a sudden the baby self comes out which is a good thing because without the baby self life wouldn't be funny. The author explains to the reader that violence doesn't solve anything and it's important to say what you really want to say and don't hide it in otherwise you might feel as if you're in hell which isn't a great feeling. Also the author tells the reader how there are two personalities that are in you, the baby self & the mature self. Usually the mature self is always a good thing but on the other hand if you didn't have the baby self there would be no sense of humor. I think the reason why the title is "Why can't you shut up?" is because the mature self is trying to tell the baby self that it should stop being so baby-ish but thats wrong. Read this book to find out more on what the author says there's plenty more to go. All of you guys have a great summer ! -Dyna =D

Keeping in touch :)

It is summertime and I am already having fun. I plan to spend my time wisely because I want some time on my reading homework. I would like to make reading one of my favorite things to do this summer so that means I will spend less time going on the computer. I might get bored but I know that the books I read will be adventurous since it is summer vacation. I like the thought of going back to school. I miss all my friends and teachers. I wish that I won't worry about the time left in summer vacation because I am focused on finishing my homework early. I hope everybody else is having fun and enjoying their time!

P.S.-The title of my blog came from T. Benaline!

Fusion Fall game

Students, well if you're bored try playing fusionfall, an online game on cartoonetwork.com, so you can create your own character, then you might go to the tutoring for using your character, like use your wepons against mimnis, and there is stuff you might buy, like oufits, but it just for fun, so if any classmate is interested, play it.

A library is like a dictionary

It was great to go visit the library on Monday. Whenever I looked for a book on my book list, I felt like I was searching for a specific word in the dictionary or word hunting in T. Benaline's class. I don't like looking for books in the library but I DO like searching words in a dictionary. It's probably because I don't have to walk anywhere in the dictionary and the library is bigger than a book.

ALO HA HA

HELLO BOOK LOVERS , I finally found the book that I like it's called"PRINCESS ACADEMY."

The Lovely Bones

My aunt has told me about this movie called The Lovely Bones. She said it is a really good movie. And when I read the summary online, it was really really interesting! The Lovely Bones is a movie and a book. It talks about crime, murder, and mystery. You really can't just pass the book and not read it! The cover is not really good, but hey! Don't judge a book by it's cover! So, I'm going to read this book over the summer. It might turn out to be a fascinating story!

Small Steps

Remember Armpit, from HOLES? It's been two years since he was released from Camp Green Lake Juvenile Correctional Facility, and ever since, he's been trying to stay clean. In order to stay clean, he made five goals:

1. Graduate from high school.
2. Get a job.
3. Save his money.
4. Avoid situations that might turn violent.
5. Lose the name Armpit.
(By the way, this is not a sequel to HOLES; you don't need to read HOLES to enjoy this book.)

At first, everything goes smoothly, but, slowly, every single one of those steps will be a challenge to Armpit.

For the past year, Armpit has been working for a landscaping and irrigation company, and he has saved almost a thousand dollars. But one day, his friend from camp, X-Ray, tells him that he has the perfect plan to double his money. Rock singer, Kaira DeLeon, is going on tour, and her next stop is their own town. X-Ray's plan is to buy twelve tickets and resell them for double the money. But since X-Ray doesn't have any money, he asks Armpit for all his savings. Armpit is not sure that this plan is such a great idea, but he doesn't want to let his friend down. So after giving it a lot of thought, he decides to do it.

When I read that I went: What??!! Is he stupid or what? Of course he's never going to see his money again! Or is he?

Well, unfortunately that's all I can tell you. Oh, wait! There is something else I can tell you -- somehow, Armpit and his 10-year-old neighbor, who suffers cerebral paralysis, gets to meet rock star Kaira DeLeon. But you'll have to read the book to learn how that neat event happened.

Happy reading! (:

Bookadeventure.com

Teacher Benaline showed us this website and I think it is very fun. Also it is a good way to find books that are just right for me. I think I will be visiting this website this Summer.

Criss Cross Apple Sauce

I am currently reading the book called 'Criss Cross' by Lynne Rae Perkins.
I. LOVE. THIS. BOOK!! ____
It's funny and touching. It actually makes me imagine what it's like being 14. The tag line drew me in immediately: "She wished something would happen." I definitely remember spending my younger years wishing "something would happen." I still feel that way! The author writes so simply and perfectly. For example:
"Whatever her name was, she was pretty. She had a thick, careless braid of chestnut hair, a quick smile, and dark, merry eyes. She wore some kind of a fuzzy lavender pullover, and when she crossed her legs and lifted her guitar onto her lap, she had an interesting way of tucking the foot of the bottom leg back under her chair that made Hector feel melty. He looked away in self-preservation." (p.72).

That last sentence made me laugh out loud. So funny. A "careless braid". "Melty". Love it!

Summary:
Debbie is wishing something would happen. Something good. To her. Soon. In the meantime, Debbie loses a necklace and finds the necklace (and boy, does the necklace have a story to tell), she goes jeans shopping with her mother, she learns to drive shift in a truck (illegally), she saves a life (directly connected to being able to drive, thus proving something), she takes a bus ride to another town (in order to understand what it feels like to be from "elsewhere"), she meets a boy (who truly is from "elsewhere"), but mostly she hangs out with her friends: Patty, Hector, Lenny, and Phil. Their paths cross. Their stories crisscross.

Hope you guys will borrow this book from the library! It's a great book.

The Full Sumarization of The Book Thief

Well, I had been reading this book named "The Book Thief", and I've been writing about this book lately. It took me about 3 days to finish reading this. The book is about a girl named Liesel and Death is talking about her in her own point of view. And in the story, she had a brother that died, and her mom don't want her anymore so Liesel got a foster mother and father. She was being called the book thief for stealing books and stuff. And she's in the time of the Holocaust. And in the book, the foster father, Hans, is a warman. So I feel sad for him. And in the book, she helped this Jewish boy named Max. Saved him from the soldiers. And there's this best friend if her's named as Rudy. And he likes her, but I don't get why he paints himself black though...... And in the ending of the book, Max got beaten up by some German soldiers and blood was bleeding everywhere, but didn't say that he died, so I'm not sure if he did..... And Liesel was very sad that she was in her bedroom for 4 days, and Rudy was very worried. Until Liesel came out and talked to Rudy and telled him to keep a secret. And that's how the story ends. Liesel died. Not telling you how she died until you read it. And to tell you this. Death says that he doesn't have a scythe or a sickle. He only wears this black robe if it's cold. And he says that he doesn't have a skull or some kind of decoration like that on his face that humans put on him, he say he looks like if you put your face in the mirror (I don't understand that part clearly though). And go collects people's soul in his hand. And he collected Liesel's soul and took it away. And that's just how it ended. It was a really good book. I would recommend this book to people with high reading level like after 7 or 8th grade because this book is really hard to understand, it even made me confused sometimes. And there's some strong languages in the is book. But I do liked the book.

Baou Zakeruga!

Goodbyes

Well, this week is the last week of school, its really sad, But at least we get to still blog and talk to each other on blogger.com so I hope that everyone will go on blogger.com and read some great books, also enjoy the books that you borrowed from the library!

WARNING: Proven Guilty

I feel very guilty at the moment. I'm abandoning my book, Speak, and reading another book. I need to read about 15 more pages of Speak to officially finish the whole book! But then i'm also reading the book called, Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen, which is a really good book.

I really enjoy realistic fiction books, and this was one of the many great ones from Sarah Dessen. Along for the Ride is one of those books that include romance and tragedy, and anyone who loves other Sarah Dessen books will enjoy this one. I give this a 5 out of 5 stars.

Please hhelp me ! D: I don't know if i should still keep reading Speak or Along for the Ride! I can't read 3 books at one time, since i'm reading a non-fiction book also.

Summary of Along for the Ride:

Ever since her parent's divorce, or since the fighting started, Auden has had trouble sleeping. She's been raised by her perfect mother, to be an adult- missing out on things children should have. Now she's spending the summer before college in the tiny beach town of Colby with her father and his new wife and baby. As she is somehow given the job at a trendy boutique, she slowly makes friends and is introduced to the world of friendship, conversations, and romances she has missed out on.

Reading at Buffet

While I was at the Buffet with my mom, dad, little brother, Jazzlyn and Sharon I noticed a little sign above the people head sitting across from me. I Read the sign and it said, "We will charge 50cent for everytime you waste food". I was like "whoa" and i decided to not waste my food or my dad would kill me because of the bill. In the end it was $85.25. I learned my lesson.

Fun but tiring

On Sunday, June 13, 2010, my family and I rode out bikes to a lot of different places. And on our way there, I saw signs. We went to the art museum, Penn's Landing, Fairmount Park, Penn Treaty Park, Independence Mall, Love Park, and Burger King on Market Street. We saw signs like the street signs, the stop signs and the names of places where we passed. But as you know, it was raining on Sunday, and my family and I got soaked in the rain. I was reading signs where we were going, and until I reached home at 7 P.M, I reviewed all the places I went and realized that we went to a lot of places! It was really fun, the five of us in my family. And we were so tired after the trip! So whenever you go on a trip, look what's around you and see if there's signs you can read!

Have you ever thought...

Have you ever thought about the benefits and challenges of blogging?
If you have then comment please.
I want you to share your thoughts about it.

Realistic Fiction

I have to say realistic fiction is the best genre that ever been made. Some people might say some other genre is the best if you do write your comments at the bottom. If you love realistic fiction PLEASE comment at the bottom DON'T LET REALISTIC FICTION DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!rock.jpg rock image by orangesky_angel

Romeo and juliet

Hey so i just got back from the ballet and I saw Romeo and Juliet it was so good but it inspired me to read the book. But this one was a chapter book. Romeo and Juliet and their parents hate the other side so of course they have to be on the different sides. So in the end Juliet drinks poison and ends up in a coma. So Romeo finds out and kills himself. So when Juliet finds Romeo she kills herself. It's really deep!!!!!!

I, Now Finished The Book Thief

I've been reading a book named "The Book Thief" lately and is a good book. And now I've finished it. The ending was pretty sad. And I liked the book very much. It's a fat fat book. Like almost 570 pages. Comment Below if you want to.

Quotes are IMPRESSIVE !

When I'm reading, there are many quotes that I would find in the book that are interesting and sometimes I would take some time to think about the quotes or even try to find out the meaning. I would think if it even means something to me or my Life because most of the time quotes mean something or they are about things that you should look up to. For example, in a book about "Love", there are quotes are about love and how love can either bring happiness or sadness into your life. In a book about "Friendship" the quotes are about how your arguments are the way your FRIENDSHIP can grow and maybe even last FOREVER. Also they can be about how only your TRUE friends are there for you through thick&thin and your FAKE friends are there when they feel like it and they come&go.

If words were all over our bodies

If words were all over my body I would just learn new words and it will be like my personal dictionary. People would walk up to me and ask me what does the words on my body mean and it will be educational because people are learning new vocaburlary.

Taboo the game of unspeakable fun

I LOVE playing the game called "Taboo!" It is so much fun. It is also knowledgeable. My very first game was when I went to Connie's house. My own personal set was given to me by Kayla (she gave me the mini version of it). Today, I just played with Cynthia on the bus. The main rule: When you draw a card, you can't say the main word or any of the supporting words under it. You have to describe it in a way so that the guesser can guess the exact word (or phrase). I repeat:
I LOVE TABOO!

Favorite

What is your favorite kind of book? Do you like action-packed books? Funny books? Serious books?
My favorite kind is suspenseful, action-packed, page-turning, mind boggling, mysterious books, with a little humor here and there. I think the books someone likes tells a lot about them, like there personality or interests. What do you think?

the end of the six grade chapter

You ever stop and think I made it though this year like we are ending a chapter and going to the next chapter.Of a seventh grader. We made it we made thourgh getting the yelling the argueing and we are now mature. I might not be the smartiest person but I made it just like you. And sometimes it is good to give your self your props and say I made it

Online Scrabble

Today T.Benaline teaches us a new website to go to whaich is called www.Pogo.com is a website that has online games but she only let us play Scrabble and we made a pogo account. We challenge our friends in the claass, rabots, and strange person in the Scrabble. This is a good website go to because we can learn how to play Scrabble very good and if you don't have anyone to play Scrabble with, this is your chance to go to this website to learn how to play.I really enjoy this website and I encourge everyone to use this website in the future to play educational games.
Have fun in the summer and visit this website!

At the Library

pretty quiet a great place to read but unfortunately i have to wait for something for a fee =[

Off Topic

This week, I often read posts that are off topic, it has nothing to do with reading or ELA. This blog is called "Booklovers" so the main idea is to share your feelings about reading, not like sharing your status on Facebook. Please try to quit the habit of doing that and stay on topic, I am looking forward to read them.

I love funny books

i like funny books that aren't like childish funny I like Seriously funny things!!

Boggle

I played the game Boggle today and I think the game helps me with my vocabulary. The game Boggle is a game that is educational and the highest score I had today is 76. I think I can improve my score if I practice more. I will play this game over the summer to keep me entertain.

What do you think is funny?

What do you think is funny? There are a lot of things that are funny. My favorite funny thing is the annoying orange. Why do I think it's funny? He makes the funniest jokes ever and the funniest videos ever. ( WARNING: Parents and teacher's, do not watch these videos). He started out as making fun of other fruits and vegetables and when things go bad, Orange says knife and then the dramatic sound turns on. Next thing you know, they're turned into something else and he starts to make fun of them again. Thisb is why I think is funny.

Heads, You lose!

This book is by R.L. Stine and I recommend it to all the students and childrens that likes it.
This is book is filled up with a collection of horror, adventure, action, and fantasy!
It's about a boy who bought a cursed coin from a horror shop and later was wheeled back in time by it and now the boy is fighting to go back to his present time.....hoping that he still has his head on if he doesn't get caught by the executer!

Making connections will make you interested

I have researched my 6 sun class in T. Benaline's class not making connections. Only 15% of the class are only making connections. I thnk it is important to make connections because it will tell you some important facts that you never knew or that you never discovered in this book. There a lot of books that you can connect with.

If books had no title

If books had no title i would not be interested in them because sometimes the title catches my
attention. I like titles on books because they can relate to the book.

Summer

School is almost over and the summer is coming, which doesn't mean that you should stop reading book and stop doing work. You should still read a lot of books and work on the packet of activies that that your getting in the summer. You should still read some books so that in the summer your not sitting in front of a TV all day so that when you get back to school you aren't having trouble in school when you come back to school.

IT WORKED! IT WORKED!

I am currently reading the book, Boys are dogs. And when I was reading it yesterday for homework, guess what happened? The main character, Annabelle has a dog named Pepper. Pepper came with a instruction manual. Annabelle replaced the word 'dog' with the word 'boy'. Here's an example: Teach your dog that hearing his name means something amazing and fascinating will happen. Now replace the word 'dog' with 'boys'. It all makes sense! Teach your boy that hearing his name means something amazing and fascinating will happen. It sort of makes sense, right? So Annabelle used this strategy to help her with her problems with the boys at Birchwood, her school. And IT WORKED! IT REALLY WORKED! It's so amazing, I thought that it wouldn't work. So now, it really means that BOYS ARE DOGS!

What are your thoughts about reading and blogging over the summer?

SUMMER IS ALLL MOST HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YEA IT IS HERE SUMMER WERE PEOPLE CAN SET AND JUST INJOY NATURE AND SPEND TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY . READ, AND WATCH THE THE NEWS AND YOU CAN HAVE FUN READING BOKKS READING ROCKS HARD. BUT ME FOOTBALL IS THE BEST THEN THERE IS READING YEA FOOTBALL RULES.

Hi Dudes and Dudets! Yesterday I was so bored so I locked myself inside my closet after hanging out with Jazzlyn, Sharon, Amy and Jessica. While I was in the closet i found a book. The book was about swimmers. So i decided to read it. It talked about Michael Phelps and how he was in the fastest swimmer in the US. I was being sstupid so I decided to think Michael Phelps was a mermaid. I know this is wrong but. . . I was bored a lot of random things happen when I'm bored. Bye Guys! Have Fun blogging.

Reading

Sometimes reading can be fun and some times it can be boring and what I'm saying is tat when I read an interesting book I feel that I'm having fun while I'm reading whenever I'm reading something boring or slow or non-action-packed it just make me feel like I want to put the book down and do something else.I'm not so sure how you feel if you feel the same way ,comment.Bye!!

(Trying) to Startle People

I don't know why but I always feel like scaring people. I think it is because I find it amusing and fun. I tried to scare some people but sometimes my plan backfires. I usually fail but I keep playing around. One of the funniest scares I made was when it was after school and I was on the 1st floor. My sister and I were there when we heard someone coming down the stairs. I hid next to the light switches so that person couldn't see me. When he came out, I was about to say "ROAR" but I couldn't because that person was T. Bill. T. Bill didn't see me yet but he kept walking towards the elevator when he saw Selena. She told him that I was trying to startle him . He turned and saw me. He started to laugh because I failed. Ha ha very funny. I wonder what his reaction would be if I really scared him... (starts to laugh evilly)

bookadventure.com is an awesome website

I think that bookadventure.com is an awesome website. I think we can learn a lot from that website. I think that it's a fun, entertaining, amusing website. I also like the website freerice because not only can we learn things but we can donate rice to the needy people. I think all the websites teacher benaline showed us are really neat websites that we can play instead of being on FACEBOOK 24/7. I think during the summer we can play on these websites.

~xoxo~

teacher bill my friend

even though teacher bill may yell sometimes he is really calm and funny he is always helpful and you can trust him if you need to.Teacher bill is loud when he is a math teacher but when he is not teaching he is funny and calm. That is why i think teacher bill is my faviorite teacher and friend.

Current Events

I think reading current events are great because they can keep us updated on whats happening in Philadelphia or whats going on in the world.I'm glad Teacher Benaline gave us this assignment to do for homework.

HI!!!!

Hey, I love this blog I hope you guys will come to this blog everyday when SUMMER starts........PLUS read and give me advice to read what your reading!!!!

Teacher Benaline is the BEST!

Teacher Benaline knows all these good web sites like bookadventure.org, freerice.com, wordtwist.org, and other web sites that help improve our reading and writing skills. She allows us to go one these web sites for us to learn new things and have fun at the same time! Reading and writing are important in life because you have read to know what to do and you have to write down notes. So reading and writing are essential in life. So, thanks to you Teacher Benaline, you helped us learn more while we still have fun!

Magazines

I really enjoy reading magazines, such as "Seventeen" and "M". Magazines teach me more about health, growing up, and lifestyle. Many teenage girls have self-esteem issues, like their appearance and relationships. These magazines address these issues by giving out helpful advices. Teens that are struggling with weight problems can be benefit by following the healthy diet recipes and exercise tips which the magazines provide for them, rather than crash diets of their own. Also, the magazines provide fashion tips to improve teenage girls' appearance. These magazines may help teenage girls' to gain self confidence and social skills. However,we should use common sense and knowledge to judge that they are sensible, and follow the advices accordingly.

The Book Thief

Now I'm starting to read the book "The Book Thief" (I've always wanted to borrow it!), and it is a really deep book. I can't stop reading this book. It is a really good book. I'm like on Part 4 of this book(Page 170), and I liked the Death's point of view(the death with the sickle), because he say things really interesting. But I hope he's in the story more, because Death isn't really on the story that much except the beginning part by how he introduces himself to a girl named Liesel, but he calls Liesel "The Book Thief" because she steal books. (I guess why this book is named as "The Book Thief!)She's in the time of Adolph Hitler and is an orphan. Her brother died in the train but doesn't say why though. So she lives with Hans. I don't understand it, why does Adolph Hitler wants to burn books, I think they're crazy or something. Well I'm still reading this book, so it might take a pretty much of a while to finish this book.

-Eric
ZAKERUGA

Current events

I personally think that doing current events in the morning while watching the news is easier! I watch channel 6 action news wghile eating breakfast or getting dressed! I think the more interesting news happens at night because thats when all the crazy people and robbers come out! lol :D

SUMMER READING OMG

OMG WE HAVE TO READ OVER THE SUMMER! I don't think they should make people it takes away all the fun of it.Its like saying eat this food or jump off this bridge! I dont think its fair also if they are going to make us read we should at least be able to pick our own genre! Can't anyone stop this?!?! They're ruining my summer because I will be stressing over what books to read not on enjoying them!

Summer Reading

Summer is almost here Booklovers! I will miss you all dearly even the ones that I really don't like, but any who this summer I am planning to read Love&Romance books. I have always been interested in these books but got tired of reading about the ones where ends all the same I would like to read a unique one. Even may be something that you guys have experienced! Just like me. At the end when realizing love is not everything. Back to reading and suggestions, any? Comment below.

xoxo, veronica<3

Do You Have This Book I NEED THIS BOOK

I NEED THIS BOOK I read it for a few minute at Target. It sounded like an awesome book but I just read the first page so it could SUCK but I hope not. It's called Vladimir Tod.

Book Websites

Today Teacher Benaline showed us a website called bookadvendure.org and she told us that we can look for books on that website and we can borrow those books at the library. Also there are some games on that website too. They help us with words and everything else. She has also showed us freerice.com Which is a website for us to know what words mean and the meaning of them. There are more websites, but I forgot them so yeah.

Bloggers

I love the communication we have going on here! People are talking about books, about learning, about writing, and about life. I feel that I am getting to know all of you more just from reading your blogs that show your thoughts and opinions. Hopefully, we can keep communicating in the summer and even meet up to go to the Library or Starbucks to talk about our reading life....

Bookadventure.org

Today T.Benaline introduce us to a website called www.Bookadventure.org and I really like the website because this website could help you finds book for you by your grade level and different kinds of fiction and non-fiction genres that you like to read. When you like how the title of the book is, it also has a blurb to it and this website also contains some educational games like grammers.T.Benaline introduce us this website because she want us to make a list of books we want to read over the summer so we can found it.And for us to stop going to FACEBOOK and stop enjoying some games in this website.Good luck!

Thank you T.Benaline I enjoy it!

Mistreating a book

Today when 6Th period when we were beginning social studies Fnan took a book to use as a fan and Teacher Benaline was like " Are you using a book for a fan"? And it made me think books need respect. I treat books as like a new born baby. So next time be careful with books

Boring Characters

How come it seems like whenever we read a fiction book the main character is always either very popular or very unpopular, or very rich or very poor. And if they're unpopular, they always seem to suddenly become popular in the end. It always seems to be the extreme. I also want to know why the main character in a book is usually special or the "Chosen One" or whatever. They never seem to just be a bystander( now remember, I don"t mean to include Historical Fiction. That's different) .You might say it's to make the book more exciting, but sometimes I just get tired of it, sometimes I just want something..............different. What do you think?

never abandon a book

Never abandon a book because sometimes you could recommend the book to someone or you could tell someone how the book was.For example I would recommend this book called "Blood is Thicker because it talks about life and you can relate to the characters in the book.

bookadventure.com

I like the website bookadventure.com because in there I can find many books and I can read what it is about to see if the book is interesting or not. I also like this website because I can play educational games there and not have violent games. I will visit this website often in the future so I can find books that I like there. I also like scholastic book alike.

Abandoning a book if it's boring

I always abandon a book if it's boring. But my teachers especially Teacher Benaline always say to finish it but never want to because If I keep reading it I'll hate it and sometimes more.

The Book Thief

I've read a book named The Book Thief. I just started reading it, and hope that I ca finish it quickly. The book is pretty good in the beginning.

My Routine

You know what's a good way to relax and enjoy your reading?
This is just MY reading routine. It's okay if you read differently but this is what i do.
Tell me what you think!

If it's in the summer (really hot):
Place: Either in front of an air conditioner or a fan. You can also read in the library/beach.
Things you should have with you: A book, a type of food that isn't hot like soup, (optional) Green iced tea and, of course, Music.

If it's winter (really cold):
Place: Anywhere where you won't freeze.
Things you should have with you: Your favorite book, any food that keeps your body warm, (optional) Hot chocolate with marshmallow, and Music [:

Uhrr.. i don't have anything for spring & fall because it's hard to explain it. So comment below a routine for either spring, fall or both! (:

-Sharon(:

P.S; 6 More days until... SUMMER BREAK! :D
But still work hard in school.

Lies

I have wondered about lies. Are they for the good or for the bad? Do they let you have freedom or keep you trapped up in a cage? But then again, there are secrets that are untold. Maybe you have to lie to keep an important secret. Is it okay to lie then? The dangerous secrets are the ones that sounds like lies. People sometimes get too worried and they spill the beans. I know a most people say that lying is bad for you. People may lie to get out of trouble. I don't like those kind of people and I'm usually annoyed. People may lie to not bother others. Maybe it's because they want peace. There is always a reason behind every lie that is said. Secrets are sometimes involved. Why keep a secret when you have people to share it to? It's a secret and no one knows.

Current events

You all know how Teacher Benaline tells us to do the current events every day right ? So one day I think it was Monday and Veronica shared one about some guy and he hears voices inside his head and she says that they're telling him to start violence. I really think that is weird she also said that he missing to. If you have of heard really interesting news tell me and what do you think about this one

I find Mangas...

I find Manga... FUN! I love how I have to jump from one place to another to get the story.

The way they write the Manga is similar to the chinese way of writing scrolls and poems. Japanese characters are also similar to chinese characters.

谢谢 再见 !That <- means thanks and bye! [[:

Fascinating!

Have you ever wondered how people come up with quotes that sound so amazing? I have. There are a lot of quotes that I like. Read the quotes below.
"First things first, second things never." Shirley Conran

"Of all the wild animals, the boy is the most troublesome and the most fascinating." Apricot Plum

"Boys frustrate me. I hate all their indirect messages...do you like me or don't you? Just tell me so I can get over you." Kristen Dunst

"You see an awful lot of smart guys with dumb women, but you hardly see a smart woman with a dumb guy." Erica Jong

"I don't understand it when people say 'We're going out.' What does that mean? You're not going anywhere." Tori Allen

"Only time can heal your broken heart, just as only time can heal his broken arms and legs." Miss Piggy

"Many friends will walk in and out of your life. But only true friends will leave footprints in your heart." Eleanor Roosevelt

"Always accept all compliments. Ignore any other remarks." Kay Oss

"Shared joy is doubled joy. Shared sorrow is half sorrow." Swedish Proverb
These are some of my favorite quotes. They all seem so fascinating. What are your favorite quotes and who are they by?

Reading in the Summer

Today I found out that we had to read at least 10 books in the Summer.I think that's not a good idea because Summer is when we're out of school. But at least I won't fall behind on my reading.

MMV uses reading skills?

Well there is this game called "Maplestory" and people use the game to make music videos. I think that the people that makes the music videos use a reading skill like visualizing. The think about what the song means to them and just make it. It takes a lot of time but it explains the video better to me.

P.S. MMV= Maple Music Video
